Let us know if you need any further assistance. Your advice for removing all e-mail accounts from calendar notifications cannot be followed as you described. When I select "Add or remove email addresses" on this page, it jumps me to my main Live account, and only allows the option to change my main account for notifications. There is no option affecting only calendar notifications. Based on other messages I found during researching this matter before posting here, I already tried this multiple times, and it had no effect on this problem.
I have also created completely new profiles in Outlook and reset up the e-mail accounts fresh. No effect - a 15 minute reminder is still added to the appointment as soon as I check it on another device, whether using Outlook or my Windows Phone 8. OK, just so I don't seem uncooperative, I deleted the Hotmail account from my office computer's Outlook Closed Outlook, then re-opened it and added the Hotmail account back in.
Went to the calendar, and the new appointment appeared. Took another screen shot. Modified the appointment in Outlook new time, text added. I have Outlook on a desktop and want to sync with a Windows 8 phone. I am forced to use an outlook. If I create an appointment on the desktop, the sync process always adds a reminder when it syncs with my outlook. If I create an appointment in the online calendar, when it syncs with the desktop and the phone it set the reminder according to how I specified when creating it.
If I am reading the advice in Step 1 above correctly, it seems that we can either have reminders for everything or nothing. We tend to want a default of none but the occasional appointment needs a reminder.
We can achieve this if we use the online calendar to create the appointments but not if we use the desktop as the master. I always prefer to work on the desktop version. I don't know if you still have this problem but I, and a few others, are still hitting our heads against a brick wall. I have ended up being directed to the Office forum and have found the following thread.
It might add weight to getting a solution if you could add your name to the count. I have done some more testing and think I have found a problem in Outlook with one of the reminder fields. So that it has a better chance of being looked at, I have raised a new topic. This annoying bug has finally been squashed. Thank you, Microsoft Office team. I have tested with 3 appointments and all-day events created in the Desktop office Outlook, synchronized, then opened the appointments in my Windows phone calendar and Windows 8 start screen calendar.
No reminders were added. What a relief to finally be rid of this process of having to go to the Start screen calendar or phone and delete the reminder for all my appointments.
